i am now looking forward to the sequel, pirates of the caribbean: dead man's chest (starring the oh-so-amazing johnny depp). i am not a big movie watcher, but i thoroughly enjoyed it. in the end, he embraces his destiny, which is to join the ranks of the pirates. he is a pirate's pirate, and he is surrounded by a crew of swashbuckling badasses. his character is a thief who is happy to steal and be an outlaw. the star of the film is probably johnny depp. jeremy piven has a cameo as an assassin, and that's about it. stagnetti, by contrast, is a villain who is both angry and afraid, as he is of death. but he quickly learns to be happy with himself, which is the message of the movie. at one point, the protagonist, jeremy piven, struggles with his sexuality. it is one of the few movies in which the main characters are all pretty darn happy all the time. there is little depth to it, but that's the point. The movie is a big, silly, action-packed, raucous comedy. if it's not in theaters, you're not paying to see it. if it's not on dvd, you're not paying to see it. and if it's not on cable, you're not paying to see it. if you're watching it illegally, you're not. if you're watching doctor who on cable, you're paying for it.
